Tiltil, Chile, Vuelta a Valparaiso stage 4 - Gan Han just misses the podium on the day sprinting to 4th just behind the leading riders....
An announcement comes over the radio from the race commissaire. That was the 1k to go banner!? The result won’t stand for the GC. Gan is swamped by the group after easing up and has to frantically rescue a 10th place across a second finish line...
Why was the 1k to go banner almost a replica of the finish line? Chile is a hotspot for sightings of extraterrestrial beings...it is true they could have been having their fun here and tampered with the equipment.. it seems they are in the area and want to continue to frustrate race organisers til the event ends.
No reason why this has happened but it has cost Gan a good result ...
